Squash Tournament 2024

Evening all,

We are excited to invite you all to join in the 2024 Annual Squash tournament, with categories to suit all.

Members entering the Open or Ladies categories will be guaranteed at least two matches, with everyone competing in the first round, with losing players being automatically entered into the Plate competition. Other categories are -

Vintage
Alternative
Handicap
Doubles

Each entry will be charged at £3 per entry per player per category (Courts and lights are free for your allotted match, but players will have to pay normal court/light costs for rearranged matches). It is essential that you make every effort to play your match on the night stipulated in the draw. Please contact John on 07801441169 or john@fsmithandson.co.uk to discuss any rearrangements, as this will need to be sorted before the next round is played otherwise you will forfeit the game.

For those doubles lovers out there, we are going to spice up the doubles tournament this year. Every player entered will be seeded, with the top seed playing with the bottom seed, the second seed playing with the second bottom seed and so forth. This should make for some very interesting doubles games and a chance for any team to win.. Get yourself entered.

Entry fees will be deducted from your account on enrolment, unless you wish to make alternative arrangements and contact Sean Doyle.

Please complete the sheet below indicating which categories you would like to enter. You can also enter via the website as an online booking, but it might be fun to add your name to this list anyway.

The registration is now open, with the closing date for entries is midday on 2nd April 2024 and the draw will then be made. You will be contacted by the 6th April 2024 with your opponent and time slot to play. At this point a schedule of play will also be generated and published.

The competition will run from the 8th of April with the Grand Finals being held in the evening of Friday 26th April, starting from 6pm to approx. 9 pm.
Yes, you heard it correct, we have moved the finals away from a Saturday to a Friday evening, to see if we can stimulate more support for all the finalists.
It would be great to have as much support on finals evening as possible and for all members to see a complete range of squash levels, from the club’s top players, through to the competitive and fun of doubles matches.
The finals evening will end with the presentation of all trophies and a buffet, not forgetting a few beers....
