Padel Development Plan - Your Support

As your committee, we are writing today for your opinion on the club funding an early-stage feasibility assessment into building Padel courts alongside our existing squash/racketball courts, expanding our offering and embracing changing tides in racket sports.

Please be assured that we remain committed to ensuring that club funds are spent responsibly and continue to provide outstanding squash and racketball facilities — hence why this decision isn’t taken lightly and we are giving every member a say.

Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and has the potential to generate significant additional income for our club. As a not-for-profit entity, any additional income would be used solely to maintain and improve what we already have. For example, a new roof and solar panels, new heaters, potential for more glass back walls (if preferred), etc.

Today, we are asking for your backing to spend up to £10k on feasibility analysis (inc. planning permission). This is less than a third of our current available funds, and won’t affect our ability to meet any other financial obligations.
