Honorary Life Membership - Ron Terry

The Committee is pleased to announce the award of Honorary Life Membership to Ron Terry. As Ron has hung up his rackets, it is a fitting time to recognise how much he has contributed to the club over the years.

For those not aware, Ron has been Coach, Club Captain, Committee Chair, liaison with the Rotary Club for participation in the Sanderstead fireworks and, perhaps more importantly, has been the architect behind the most recent squash and main club building works. For the latter, when the original contractor for the glass back court failed, Ron stepped in and enabled completion with organisation of both contractors and members and personal labour. Without him, the project would not have been completed as successfully as it was, for which we are very grateful.

Over the years, Ron has not only saved the club thousands of pounds with his personal efforts, but also raised thousands of pounds through hard work and dedication.
The formal presentation was made at the recent racketball finals and a photo is shown below.

We look forward to seeing Ron at the club for many years to come.
