Squash and racketball boxes participation

Hi

Since the squash and racketball boxes returned from Covid it has become clear players are not completing as many box games as they used to.

The boxes clearly work best if everyone is playing their games. So going forward we just wanted to set out a few guidelines:

• By entering the boxes you are committing to playing all the games – it is only normally five or six games over the course of two months
• If you do not think this is possible please step out of the boxes – there are wider squash and racketball WhatsApp and email lists where games can be organised with other players
• It is incumbent on each player to approach others in the WhatsApp box groups and to try to make themselves available
• If you are injured and unable to play your games you should inform members of your box and the league organiser – your games and the points earned will then be erased. If there is only one or two games left the organiser may award matches to the opponents left to play
• Players not making themselves available for games are liable to have matches awarded against them
• Players not playing the majority of their games will be asked to leave the boxes for the next round. Though you’ll always be welcome to re-join when ready.

By applying these guidelines we hope to reduce some frustration felt by those who want to play their games, and to ultimately have more competitive (and fun) games being played.

Thanks,
The Committee
